Handymakes crafts creative projects
that enthuse, amuse, and educate.
It might be writing a story, or making a short film, or developing a cool new podcast. Maybe a brand for your restaurant, and 3D props for a geeky convention, a narration for that new book, a game prototype, and—why not?—an entire exhibition on the amazing world of snails.
See, here’s the thing.
In a world in which we’re all supposed to be “finding our niche” and “honing our brand,” we don’t care about that. Why do one thing when everything is so darned interesting? And we can actually do it! If it’s a cool idea, we figure out how to make it happen. That’s our passion.
It doesn’t hurt that we’re pretty handy.
Those categories in the menu will show you a few things we do really well, and a few of the projects we’ve already made.
But don't let that limit your imagination. If you have an idea, we want to hear it!

News > Hashtag Goes Public!
Handymakes is thrilled to announce that Hashtag, the award-winning sci-fi short by Ben Alpi/Runic Films starring the amazing Gigi Edgley of Farscape and Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge fame, is now available for public viewing on DUST. Hashtag is an exciting, and disturbing, film set in an all-too-looming future controlled by social media—a perfect match for DUST's roster of thought-provoking science fiction content that explores the future of humanity through the lens of science and technology. DUST is available on YouTube, Facebook, AppleTV, Roku and most other streaming media services.
This world premiere follows a year of festival viewings, during which Hashtag received 14 award nominations and 4 award wins, including Best Short Film at the GenCon convention, and Best International Sci Fi Short at the New Renaissance Film Festival in London.
Handymakes partner Jeff served as the editor of Hashtag, and our team is now helping with marketing as the film continues to build an audience and support for an expanded exploration of this short via a feature-length film or series. Stay tuned!
