The Handymakes team morphs to the needs of the project, but we have a few main makers. Who are handy. Literally.
Sharon Handy
Creative Content, Media Development, and Communications Sharon’s specialty is unearthing the core of an idea and making it captivating, understandable, and fun. As a creative content developer in the weird world of science centers and children’s museums, Sharon created exhibition themes and messaging, experiences and educational approaches, master plans, labels, and graphics for dozens of exhibitions. She also spearheaded new interactive media for informal education, creating games and multilayered explorations of everything from galleons to garbage gas energy. Bringing cool information and experiences to more than 65 million people was awesome, but Sharon wanted to explore broader avenues of storytelling, communication, and creativity. She walked away from a 22-year career to do things differently at Handymakes. Idea generation, scripts, storyboards, intuitive user interface design, graphic design, coding, voice work, freelance writing, and editing—Sharon digs in and digs it all. Her only worry? The decades to come just aren’t enough to explore all the cool ideas that keep popping up. But she’s going to try. |
Jeff Handy
Creative Content, Video Editing, and Production Jeff’s specialty is crafting content into high-impact video and multimedia. As a video editor, multimedia producer, and production manager in the field of online education, Jeff has created thousands of hours of content that directly impacts the trajectories of people’s lives. Jeff’s video talents have also found their way into the world of independent film. In addition to his work with Handymakes, he’s edited web series, the multi-award-winning sci-fi short Hashtag starring Gigi Edgley, and the award-nominated Western Cowboy Creed. Jeff also handles audio production and motion graphics work, and is an accomplished photographer and licensed drone videographer. Add to that a stint at Universal Studios operating the chroma key virtual reality experience Screen Test. Jeff can turn you into a Vulcan on the bridge of the USS Enterprise in no time flat! No matter what he’s doing, Jeff is driven by his love of a challenge. His biggest fun is taking on something new, figuring it out, and making it even more awesome than anyone had imagined. |
